The hospital scene between T-800 and T-1000 was probably one of the most memorable action sequences ever. Seeing T-1000 being split into two and the liquid metal coming to life. Awesome. This figure is neat.

I went to the first ever Malaysia Toys Fair recently. Nothing much to shout about. More towards designer toys. Some good stuff. Not all to my taste though. Some rather irrelevant stuff. It is a good start, not a great start. Hopefully things will improve with the second round (if there ever is).

I'll let the photos to do the talking. I took photos of what I think is cool but not necessarily things I like (get it?). Not much on 1/6 scale though. Mainly on designer toys. I will post the photos in batches.

Pointman - Futura UNKLE 77 (1/6 Medicom RAH)

You don't know your dance music if you do not know UNKLE. The DJ-supergroup formed by DJ Shadow and James Lavelle. UNKLE commissioned legendary graffiti artist, Futura 2000 to create imagery for UNKLE debut album. There came Pointman.

This figure is familiar to most due to the ridiculous amount of copycats out there. But in truth, nobody knows shite about the Pointman. Except for fans of UNKLE.

I am not too sure about this but I think this is the only few times where Medicom is just a distributor for a Real Action Heroes figure as this figure was created at SID and MWA.

This figure was designed by Ben Drury and his mates. Sculpted and realised by Neil Holdom. The most awesome part of this figure is the camo fabric. It is as real as it can get. The camo fabric is designed by Ben Drury.

Even Pointman has a Big Baby, if you know what I mean. Oh yeah, there are 3 versions. Green, blue and even the super-rare pink camo fabric. For me, green camo is good enough. Good stuff.

I've decided to take a look at the Spidey that Tobey made famous before a certain Garfield takes Spidey back to his teenage years. Twillight-version of Spidey? I shake with fear.

Anyway, this Spidey kicks serious backsides because of the awesome costume. Look at the webbings, the little circles that embodies the whole costume. This Spidey costume is alive.

The Watchmen, the story is complex and a good read. The Watchmen, the movie is a quite woeful and average at best.

Both have one thing in common. The character called Rorschach. He is by far the most interesting subject in The Watchmen.

This 1/6 figure is pretty neat. Not the most detailed (this is DC Direct), but pretty good. And that mask. That mask.

Attakus. This French company does come up with really cool statues. Market awareness of this company is probably quite low due to licensing issues (where products can be sold, etc). Attakus can only sell their products in only France. Yes, only France. By the way, the statue is made in France. This is no China-made stuff.

No fancy packaging here. It comes with a white box that basically does not excite anybody. Wait until you open up the box.

This Brown Wolverine is totally awesome. It is 16-inch in height and super heavy. This is a pure comic-to-statue version of Wolverine. No facy shades and stuff. Pure plain colour. Cool pose.

Really liked the tone of Logan's body. Some people would point out at the size of Logan's "tool". Well, Logan sure is well-stuffed. An all-round winner here.

This one for the ladies.

This is old news but I didn't really take a close look at it until a few days back. This is by far the most superior Optimus Prime ever. I am not comparing vis-a-vis with MP-1 but from the movie line, this is the best and most complex.

Totally confusing "transformation sequence" which left my Prime in its robot mode. I am not going to transform it into the vehicle mode, for fear of not being able to transform it back to robot mode.

The ion blaster is awesome. Huge and deadly. And Prime is all chromed-up.

My only complaint. The mouthpiece. Apart from that, this is one bad-ass robot.

Skids & Mudflap (Hasbro)

I like these 2 Autobots. Just like Barricade from the first Transformers movie, these are one of the few stand-out characters from the pretty dire sequel. Skids and Mudflap both had been condemned for being racists and all. WTF? Why can people take the humour and the diversity?

And what's up with the censorship? Suck my popsicle. These twins are awesome because of their busted-open faces and they transformed and combined into an old-skool ice-cream truck. Skids the front and Mudflap at the back.

I find these 2 Autobots to be pretty neat. And I think mine is pretty unique too in the sense that the Autobot insignia is missing from the front of the ice-cream truck (refer to last photo). Not to mention the totally amusing upside-down Autobot insignia on the back of the truck. And what is wrong with "suck my popsicle"?

Gong Xi Fa Cai! Happy Chinese New Year aka Spring Festival aka Lunar New Year to everybody.

With all the hype about 1/6 figures (12-inch), sometimes it is good to be brought down to earth and take a look at the many 6-inch figures around. 6-inch figures are cheap. You give them the benefit of doubt for the slack paintjob and you don't get critical on them unlike 1/6 figures.

The movie, Terminator 2 (T2) is a classic. No doubt about that and T-800 (Pescadero Escape) is a neat figure. Pretty good paintjob. Not much on articulation below the waist but for me, that doesn't matter because as long as it looks like Arnie (T-800). In fact, the Arnie likeness is quite stunning.

Even the the jacket is filled with bullet holes (just like Mark "Gor" aka Brother Mark - Chow Yun-Fat from A Better Tomorrow). There is only one complaint (one which many would missed out). One of the sunglasses' stem does not reach the frame. haha.... Apart from that, this is one good figure. Iconic to say the least.

Broken ankle.

There have been enquiries from my mates on what happened to me. Well......

I recently broke my right ankle. Freak fall during a round of paintball game. Multiple fractures. "Unforseen circumstances". That is why there are very few updates and many items waiting on the queue.

Two surgeries and a total of 8 screws and 1 plate. I realised that I have ridiculously high pain threshold. Been there, done that. Things are looking good......

Dec 13th, 2009. Probably I fell when my right leg got stuck in a ditch and my body turned one way, and the right foot turning the opposite way. And I remembered my ankle then looked exactly like Felipe's. Felipe is a fullback for Brazil's national football them who broke his ankle recently.

Dec 13th, 2009. Right after the freak fall (around noon). The officer-in-charge re-positioned my ankle back to its rightful location.

Dec 13th, 2009. Initially went to a clinic, thinking it was a bad-ass sprain. Doctor at clinic looked shocked and asked me to go for a X-ray. I am hardcore. Can you see the fractures?

Dec 15th, 2009. Surgery was conducted around 9pm, Dec 13th.

Dec 18th, 2010. First-look after surgery.

Dec 20th, 2009. Right before discharge.

Jan 5th, 2010. Back-slab off. Bandages off.

Jan 21st, 2010. Looking good, eh?

January 25th, 2010. I am Iron Man.

Feb 1st, 2010. Walk with both feet. Partial-weight bearing. 2 crutches.

Feb 8th, 2010. Walk with both feet. Partial-weight bearing. 1 crutch.

This is totally awesome. Inspired by issue 2 (page 12) of the Spawn comics, this is a massive statue with Spawn standing atop a cross while the red cape flows majestically.

The star attraction is the cape. Spawn's cape is alive and this statue did just that. Just look at the various layers. The way Spawn perched atop the cross, especially how he stands with the cape wrapping him protectively. This is awesome beyond words.

To be honest, this is my least favourite Mandarin Spawn. I love the Mandarin Spawn line but this just doesn't cut it for me.

Maybe it is because of the green colour. It makes Spawn looks plain and harmless. The weakest of the Mandarin Spawns lot.

Words cannot describe this. I am not going to go into details with this awesomeness. It is in a league of its own. There are 2 versions. One is the Hasbro battle-damaged version and one is the Takara Masterpiece Convoy. Hasbro has nothing on Takara. Which is why the Takara 2004 Masterpiece Convoy is Greatest Toy Of All-Time.

There are many great comic-men around. McFarlane, Moore, Wood, Gaiman, Capullo and etc. Then, there is Simon Bisley.

Bisley's art is a love-hate thing. You either consider him as a demi-God, or he has his arse up his nose. For me, Bisley is pretty awesome. Just look at Lobo and Heavy Metal. Your jaw would dropped as you said "holy shite".

This is not Bisley's Batman. It is an interpretation of Bisley's Batman. Whatever that means. Probably Bisley doesn't want to get all commercialised with DC after doing the Black & White series. This is one really hardcore interpretation of Batman. Just look at the inhuman muscles, the rough-pointy edges of the statue. This is one really pumped-up Batman.

Simon Bisley is a demi-God.

This is pure Frank Miller. Nothing spectacular but enough nuts and bolts to shut your mouth. I really like the texture of the costume. Nice.

The best of the lot. There is no doubt about it. This is a very brutalised Batman. He's hurt. He's injured. And he is pissed. Big time. In short, this is a battle-damaged Batman and there ain't many out there.

I used the Dark Victory cardboard diorama and it looked pretty awesome. You just don't wanna mess with a pissed-off Batman.

I call this the Homer Simpson Batman. But he is unique and that is pretty cool when he has the Bat-a-rang or whatever you call that. This figure came with a cardboard diorama. Damn, just look at the abs.

This one stands up there as one of the best Spawn figure ever. Doesn't matter it is the 6-inch or 12-inch category. This figure just kicks serious backsides. Totally dominating. Authority with ammo all loaded.

What else can you ask?

McFarlane should look back at this figure and do their best reclaim their crown as the best there is in toyland because these days Mcfarlane is leaving Spawn in ruts.

Terminator: Salvation sucks arse. Terminator without Arnie is like Metallica without James Hetfield. So you might be wondering, why on earth did I get John Connor?

The reason is simple. He is pretty awesome. I mean just look at the headsculpt. It's Christian Bale right here. Then the many accessories. Knife, pistol, automatic, explosives and other meant-to-kill stuffs. In fact, Hot Toys would be releasing a battle-version of John Connor soon, but I ain't getting that. I'm pleased with this.

I'm having loads of photos here because he's really all ready for some robo-killing. He's one mean looking mofo.

Batman - Bob Kane (DC Direct Black&White 1736/3000)

This, for me is one of the many iconic poses from Batman. Disregard his rather old-skool costume, this pose certainly put the spotlight on the cape. By the way, Bob Kane is the creator of Batman and this pose is taken from his art.

And you know I have a thing for cape. This statue really showcased how the cape flows when the Batman is in action. There are reports on the internet of sloppy paintjob on the face. This one is near-perfect. I don't see any bad paintjob here. Only issue here is that Batman lost one of his finger. Either while at transit or a production defect. You could say that Batman lost the finger in battle.

I like this one. Much better painted as compared to the 1st Appearance Variant. Not only that, this looks like a serious work. The mask. The costume. Just look at the back muscles. Awesome. Just like the variant, it comes with a handy base.

One of my favourite characters ever. In its original incarnations, if I'm not mistaken in a Hulk comic. The mask looked more like a cat than a wolf but then again, it was many years ago. The birth of the beserker.

I find this Bumblebee to be pretty awesome. Those canons look menacing. I never liked Bumblebee the character. Find it rather childish. But this Bumblebee sure looks pretty awesome. As a robot, Bee sucks arses. That is why I don't bother to transform it to robot mode.

This is a pretty cool old-skool Joker. Purple suit, make-ups and all. Comical, yes. But then again, this is the Joker. I like the details on the evil grin on the face and wavy hair. Bang! Bang! You're dead.

I am upset with Hasbro's rendition of Ravage. Black? That is stupid. So, I got myself a custom repainted version of Ravage. Just like in the movie. Stealth and deadly.
